Magma recently held a safety talk aimed at reinforcing awareness around heat stress. Our resourcers from Operations, QHSE & Maintenance took centre stage to equip employees with vital knowledge on heat stress prevention, stroke symptom recognition, and emergency response protocols
Resourcers were educated on the proactive measures to prevent heat stress, including the importance of staying hydrated, wearing protective clothing, and pacing their physical activity in heated conditions.
They also learned about the early signs of heat stress, and how to distinguish between heat exhaustion and a heat stroke, in order to recognize these signs in oneself and others, to ensure timely intervention which is crucial in case an emergency response is required.
Following the safety talk, the team hosted a quiz competition to enhance their learning experience. Winners of the quiz were awarded prizes, and certificates of appreciation were given out to the active participants.
